The Contact Book is a chat show like no other. Craig Doyle interviews sporting legends about their lives and careers.

As he navigates their highs and lows, he has access to each guest’s contact book and calls up people who have lived through those experiences with them. Craig’s chats with his guests are witty, engaging and enlightening – and while he hears their versions of the stories, he also gets the real inside stories from people who know and love them best. Those with whom they grew up, who trained and played with them and those whose lives they crossed in the sporting world and beyond.

While the guests give access to their contacts they don’t always know exactly who is going to pop up during their interview and what stories they are going to tell. The Contact Book with Craig Doyle is a great listen as we get the insight into these sporting legends and their stories – from all sides.

Episode 6: Kenny Logan

This week’s The Contact Book sees Craig Doyle interview Scotland and Wasps legend Kenny Logan. After joking that he wants his phone back, the two dig deep into the highs and struggles of his life. From his first cap for Scotland at just 19, to revealing how his anxiety about dyslexia would see him hide from and avoid training that involved having to read or write – it’s a riveting, enlightening and very emotional insight into Kenny’s extraordinary life and career. On his dyslexia, Kenny says: “One of my biggest regrets was I was not brave enough. Even now my stomach is in knots.” Gabby Logan also joins to talk about how she helped her husband confront and learn to live with his learning disorder in the early stages of their relationship.

As it’s The Contact Book, we take a dive into Kenny’s phone – calling the PE teacher who first encouraged him, Lawrence Dallaglio who speaks about the time they drank too much tequila, and others. The great Doddie Weir also recalls their times together in an emotional conversation. This episode is a must-listen for any rugby fan, any Scottish fan, and anyone who has ever had to deal with the debilitating effects of dyslexia. “One of my biggest regrets was I was not brave enough. Even now my stomach is in knots.”
